Loading and unloading operations
Loading, unloading and transfer operations take place in covered areas.
The users of porterage services to the central loading docks do not pay entrance fees.
Loading times and procedures are guaranteed to each customer.
The cost of porterage services depends on the number of benches transported from each warehouse to the central loading docks. A computer-based logistics system provides buyers with any useful information about trucks loading.

LOADING takes place:
- in THE CENTRAL LOADING DOCKS
for trucks with capacity over 3000 lbs.
- behind each stand
for lorries/vans with capacity below 3000 lbs.
Goods to be exported are loaded behind each seller’s stand.
LOADING PROCEDURES:
Trucks/vans/lorries get into the market during the indicated opening times and park within the above parking areas with no time limits. ![]()
Three hours before they are scheduled to leave the market, vehicles must go to their allocated place, in the central loading area. ![]()
Important: vehicles must not stop in the loading docks for more than three hours.
The combination buyer’s name/place number is computer-released to the points of sale; after the place numbers have been allocated, the pallets of goods can be transferred from the point of sale to the loading docks.
If these procedures are followed in detail, each buyer may have the loading completed by one hour and a half, from the time the last pallet has been delivered by the sellers.
UNLOADING takes place:
- BEHIND each operator’s WAREHOUSE ![]()
when goods to be unloaded amount to 1 to 5 quotas to different market operators;
- in the CENTRAL COVERED DOCKS ![]()
when goods to be unloaded exceed 5 quotas.
